©Afreepress-(Lomé, May 15, 2017)- Nigeria's Super Eagles National Team of deaf won Friday in Bamako, the 7th edition of the West African Deaf Football Tournament, by beating in the Final, « The Aigles du Mali ».
Nigeria thus registered its name on the trophy of this competition which took place at Modibo Keita stadium in Bamako from May 6 to 12, 2017. The third place went to the Sierra Leone team which eliminated on penalty the Niger in the semi-final.
In addition to the trophy and medals in silver and bronze, the first three teams received respectively envelopes of 2000, 1500 and 1000 US dollars in the presence of the Cabinet Director of the Malian Minister of Sports, Members of the Malian National Assembly , Administrative authorities and companies Directors. They were on the sides of Amuda Y. IBRAHIM, President of the West African Deaf Sports Union (WADSU).
Seven (7) teams took part in this 7th edition of the football tournament of the deaf of West Africa. This includes Côte d'Ivoire, The Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria, Niger, Mali and Sierra Leone. The 8th edition of the competition next year in Niger.
