It is confirmed, UNIR will be in the streets on 19th August 2017 with PNP
©Afreepress-(Lomé, August 16, 2017)- The “Parti national Panafrian” (PNP) of Tchiki Atchadam will not be alone in the street in Togo next August 19, militants and sympathizers of "Union pour la République (UNIR)" will demonstrate also to express their support to the Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé and chairman of their party, informed Afrepress agency from close sources of this political party.
The PNP party has announced demonstrations in lots of towns in Togo as well as in the diaspora to demand “the return to 1992 Constitution”, “the right to vote for the diaspora” and the political alternation in Togo”.
In an interview he had last Thursday with Afreepress agency and with some journalists, “the militant Gilbert Bawara” expressed his concern towards what he qualified to be an “ethnocentric speech and talks” taken by some political leaders such as that of PNP, Tchikpi Atchadam.
”If tomorrow UNIR had the impression that there are acts and behaviors, attitudes that tend to weaken the cohesion and the national unities, it would not prevent itself from defending the values of fraternity and tolerance to which it strongly stick”, he made known and he highlighted that if there were behaviors, attitudes and speeches which aim at weakening the cohabitation, to jeopardize the unity of the Country, to endanger our desire and will of cohabitation, the worry we should have or our will to work together. I say that if there is a feeling that all this is threatened, UNIR that sticks to cohesion and unity values will not lack to react. When the republic is in danger, we must be ramparts and fight for tribal stenches”, he said.
