The United States of America decides to assist Togo in achieving a better agriculture
©Afreepress-(Lomé, August 17, 2017)- The Prime minister of Togo, M. Komi Selom Klassou received an American delegation led by Deputy Secretary State Treasury Eric Meyer on Friday, 11th August, 2017 in Lomé as part of the 16th AGOA forum.
The American statesman, having noticed the problems and challenges being faced by Togolese in the agricultural sector in the country, decided to discuss it with the head of government and he proposed various measures and techniques to be considered and implemented in order to reorganize the agricultural system in the country through the support of the United Nations.
The US delegation has been asked to work with the government in order to generate ideas on how to encourage Togo partners to help the country build a modern and efficient agriculture so as to improve the living conditions of citizens.
The meeting was held in the presence of Colonel Ouro-Koura Agadazi, the “Ministère de l’Agriculture, de l’Elevage et d l’Hydraulique” who is in charge of agriculture and livestock in the country and several members of his cabinet were also present.
