Post Office and Customs in Togo signed on Friday a contract named “Postes-douanes” or Posts-Customs in the headquarters of the Customs in Lomé on mail sending, reported Afreepress.
This agreement was signed by The Customs’ General Manager, Kodjo Adédjé, and by El Hadj Tahirou Bagbiégué, the General Manager of SPT (Post Enterprise in Togo).
« The aim of this agreement is to facilitate custom duties and reduce time at the level of Customs in order to avoid some products to spoil for mail sending concerns mails that need to be sent quickly. But they undergo control at the level of Customs in order to stop drug business, fake-passport business and money laundry” declared M. Adédjé.
This agreement is a part of a partnership in the frame of a reformed program to modernize Togolese Customs hand in hand with Universal Postal Union and with the collaboration of World Customs Organization.
