© Afreepress (Lomé, the 2nd June 2014)-The Medical Center Yayra of Zossime (western suburbs of Lomé) held on Thursday an open door day, realized a reporter of Afreepress Agency.
Initiative of the International Organization for Integral Development of Women (OIDIF), this day had exposed services from the Center to the community of that locality.
On this occasion, the center received from the hands of the "Masters Touch Ministries Global Inc", a group of churches’ members, a scanner of about $ 10 000 U.S. The objective of this gift was to help ensure good health for women and newborns.
According to the organizers of this day and beneficiaries, this machine makes CMS Yayra "a reference center in the area and make it easier for women of Zossime who traveled a long distance before having antenatal consultations."
For the national coordinator of OIDIF, Mrs. Afi Tsogbe, this operation is justified by the free consultations offered to all patients who visit the center. "With this new tool, pregnant women’s struggles have been really reduced," she added.
"We were here in January and we’ve seen the conditions in which women live here. Worldwide it is woman who suffers most and she do not have access to quality treatment. The scanner we offer will save lives, "said Dr. Patricia Bailey, the team leader of the Masters Touch Ministries Global Inc. This machine will detect early breast cancers and help address them in order to facilitate children’s breastfeeding," she added.
As part of the open door operation, safe water filters were distributed to local residents of Agossito, located about 10 km from Zossime, to ensure their access to drinking water.
As a reminder, CMS Yayra is a branch of the International Organization for Integral Development of Women (OIDIF), an NGO that is involved in supporting mothers and children.
