The movement « Collectif Sauvons le Togo » began Monday in Lomé its wrestling campaign against impunity in Togo, noticed Afreepress

A lot of programs such as talk-show, film projections, evening prayers, walk-out and meeting are in the agenda of this weekly campaign which aims at the remembering the twentieth anniversary of Tavio Amorin’s murder. He was the first secretary of the political party named Parti Socialiste Panafricain(PSP).

One of the partners of the illustrate missing person found the opportunity to remind of the circumstances of its death “ a tragedy that knocked out the whole Togo because the Togolese people and particularly the youth find in the man the symbol of a total commitment for the fight of democracy”.

The president of the Labour party reminds also the reasons which motivated “the regime to eliminate physically the young Togolese politician full of ideas and admired for his future”.

Claude Améganvi regretted the fact that the agressors of Tavio Amorin are still free. “ In spite of the fact that the agressors let in the place of crime an identity card which belongs to Karéwé Kossi and war weapons, they have never been bothered. The complaints of the missing person’s family have never been cared about till now. This abuse of authority by which the RPT regime is covering its crimes states the question of impunity in Togo” regretted the general secretary of the labour party.

CST finds during the meeting that the moment has come to sue to court the responsible of crimes in Togo. As far as this movement is concerned, there is also necessity to clean up the social and political situation of Togo by the mean of institutional and constitutional reforms.

Tavio Amorin, for remembering, was the first secretary of PSP and founder member of the patriotic movement of 05th October(MO5), general secretary of CODII, member of the High Council of the Republic(HCR), the transition parliament in which he was the president of the political commission and human rights, president of the special commission in charge of of the study and adoption of the new project of constitution.
